Syre is a Swedish company developing textile-to-textile recycling for polyester, headquartered in Stockholm. It was founded by H&M Group and Vargas Holding, with founding investors including TPG Rise Climate, Volvo Cars and Norrsken VC.
Circular polyester
Syre recycles polyester textile waste into new polyester. The company states that its circular polyester matches virgin polyester in quality and reports up to 85% lower CO2e emissions compared with oil-based virgin polyester.
Production plans
Syre is developing a blueprint plant and plans to scale up to multiple production plants worldwide. According to the company, first commercial sales from the blueprint plant are expected around 2030.
